Reliance Laboratories maintains laboratory facilities in Bridgeport, WV and Martinsburg, WV. Each facility is independently certified by regulatory bodies in West Virginia and Maryland. The laboratory utilizes modern analytical instrumentation to promote precise, accurate and reliable data reporting. In addition, Reliance maintains a staff of professional chemists, biologists and environmental scientists whose experience and background promote high quality environmental reporting.
All analytical methodology conforms to requirements set out by the Manual for the Certification of Laboratories Analyzing Drinking Water, 5th Edition, USEPA, the Code of Federal Regulations, 40 CFR, Part 136 as well as all state agency requirements.
Analytical Protocol conforms to guidelines set forth under Standard Method, 18th-20th Edition, Methods for the Analysis of Water and Wastewater, USEPA, and/or MCLAD, 5th Edition, USEPA, and/or Solid Waste Manual, SW-846, Third Edition and Updates, USEPA.
Reliance Laboratories utilizes state of the art analyzers and instrumentation to insure high quality analytical data and maximum sample capacity and turnaround. All major instruments are equipped with automatic samplers which allow these instruments to continue operation on a 24-hour basis.
Reliance Labs has maintained each of these certifications continually and uninterrupted since its inception in 1977.
Reliance Laboratories has developed an extensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) Program to ensure precise, accurate and reliable data reporting. Our QA/QC Program is regularly updated to conform to continually changing state and federal regulatory certification standards for environmental laboratories. The Reliance QA/QC Manual covers all aspects of laboratory operation including Company Organization, Qualification Summary for Personnel, Chemical Hygiene, Personnel Responsibility, Audits, Confidentiality and Reporting Format.
Reliance's two laboratory facilities are both currently certified by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau for Public Health. Reliance has maintained each of these certifications continually and uninterrupted since its inception in 1977.
Recently, we have added certification from the Maryland Department of the Environment and the Virginia Department of General Services, Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services.
Each Reliance facility undergoes an independent audit by certifying regulatory agencies at least once per year. These inspections typically consist of an on site evaluation of the facilities that perform the analysis of compliance monitoring samples and include review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and laboratory personnel.
In order to facilitate efficient, accurate and reliable data reporting Reliance Laboratories maintains a state of the art Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This proprietary software has been developed to maximize sample turnaround times and flexibility in reporting to meet a wide range of customer needs and includes:
This system is housed on a secure server on-site with daily system backup. Backup copies are stored at a secure off-site location. Stringent security protocols are employed to assure the safety and confidentiality of all data.
